FOOTBALL. AUCKLAND RUGBY UNION. K special general meeting of members of he Auckland Rugby Union was held at the sDort« Club last night, to consider a notice >f motion by Mr. M. O'Connor, that the ilassification nil© be reconsidered. There eras a very large attendance of delegates irom clubs under the jurisdiction of the mion. Mr. F. G. Ohlson presided. As our grades were concerned, it was decided o deal with them seria.im, and Mr O'Conlor accordingly moved that the senior and lecond grades competitions be open, that be third grado oompeiition bo for boys lnuer 18 years of age on April 1, 1918, and hat the fourth grade competition be for >oye under 16 years on April 1. 1918. A very full discussion followed, speakers intending that the spirit of the game ihould be fostered amongst players, who vould then be graded according to their ability. It was eventually decided that the senior md second and third grade competitions be •Den, and that the fourth grade competition » limited to boys not exceeding Sat 13lb at he commencement of the season. An allowance of 71b was mad.; for players to inreasc in weight during the season.
