MAXAWATU RACING CLUB. The forthcoming autumn meeting of the Manawatu Racing Club, which takes place tomorrow and on Thursday next, gives promise of being one of the most noteworthy gathering! held at Palmerston North. Interest in the prospective meeting between Desert Gold and Biplane in the Awapnni Gold Cup is of quite a widespread character, and a large number of sportsmen from all quarters of the Dominion are expected to make the journey in order to witness the contest in the mile and a-quarter weight-tor-age race.
