NEWS OF NEW ZEALANDERS. AWARDS AND DECORATIONS. [FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] LONDON, March 5. Lieutenant H. Roberts, of the Auckland Regiment, and Lieutenant J. Pagan, N.Z.R.8., have been declared unfit for service (or 12 months Captain (i. Dittmer. M.C.. Auckland Regiment, ib a temporary major. Major K. MarCormick, D.8.0., of the N.Z.M.C, lias lieen appointed D.A.D.E.S. to tho New Zealand Division in place of Lieutenant-Colonel R. H. By his presence of mind ho saved tho ambulance car and other vehicles on tho road from severe damage, and no doubt saved several men trom injury." Command of Second Brigade. Brigadier-General H. Hart, D.S.O , Wellington, who commanded tho Fourth Brigade Irom its formation until it was absorbed in tho others, has Men transferred to command the Second Brigade, in place ol Brigadier-General \V. It. Braithwaite, C.M.G. General Braithwaite who previously belonged to the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, has now severed his connection with the New Zealand Division, taking up the appoint n.ent of BG.C.S. of a British corps. Lieutenant Hovey, of the Auckland Mounted K.fles, who camo from Egypt to establish the records section under Captain T. E. Donne, has been transferred to tho assistant adjutant-general's stall. C.S.M. J. W. O'Brien is appointed warrant officer to succeed Lieutenant Motncs. Tho following postings of medical office have been approved:—Captain A. N. McKelvey, Auckland, from Reserve Depot. Sling. to Riflo Brigado Reserve Depot, Brocton; Captain A. Clark Auckland, from Brocton to New Zealand Stationary Hospital. Captain K. L. Caldwell. M.C.. R.F.C., Auckland, has boon promoted from flight-commander to squadron-commander, with the rank of major Dr. Lister, Auckland, is on tho medical star! at Woolwich Arsenal. Lieutenant Jihn Macky, Auckland, whe came to England three years ago. and got a commission in the Royal Naval Division, has just been transferred to the armoured cars, and has left for Mesopotamia. Lieutenant Macky got«his commission in June, 1915, and after training at tho Crystal Palace and Blandford, went to tho Eastorn Mediterranean early tho following year. Coming with the Royal Naval Division to Franco, I ho saw a good deal of service on the Sommo, where he was very severely wounded. Ha was invalided to England at the end of 1916, and rejoined the Drake Battalion in July, 1917, being with his unit during the severe fighting of tho last six months, including the battlo of Passchendacle. Lieutenant Macky got his transfer to the armoured cars in November, and is now en routo for the East. His father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Macky. lost their lives in the torpedoing, of the Lusitania, a few weeks aftor ho arrived in England. Officers in Hospital. Lieutenant J. Oliphant, M.C.. K. 0.5.8., Auckland, is in England for a few months' home service. Ho transferred to tho K. 0.5.8., with a commission, from the N.Z.E.F., in tho early days of the war, and served-in Gallipoli, after joining tho Imperial forces. Mr. Ray L. Price, Auckland, who joined tho British Red Cross in 1916, and had served in Salonika and Roumania, is now in Italy. Ho has a commission as lieutenant. SecondLieutenant A. G. Jennings, M.C.. Northumberland Fusiliers, ,son of Mr. W T. JennmgsrM.P.. is transferring to tbo Royal Flying Corps. Lieutenant Jennings was wounded in the loft foot in August, and has only just com© out of hospital on three weeks' furlough. He made a trial in ballooning last week and passed with honours, and is now waiting for his transfer to tho R.F.C, to go through. Lioutonant Norman H. Hanna, R.F.A., Auckland, is in London from France. He is now attached to headquarters, 35th Divisional Artillery. Lieutenant C. H. Wilkinson R.F.A., son of Mr. C. A. Wilkinson, Jigmont, is at tho Eccleston Hospital in London. Ho was a patient at tho No. 8 General Hospital, Rouen, suffering from gunshot wounds in tho left hip and eye Quar-termaster-Sergeant Ernest G. S. Foster, 20th Battalion,. A.1.F.. late of Auckland, was wounded in October. He is now at Monte Video Camp. Weymouth, and expects to bo invalided home. One brother is still in I ranee with tho Australian M.C., and another Br'ad Pt W ' th th ° Auckland Mounted Lieutenant D. 8. Manners, Auckland Mounted Rifles, has been appointed staffcaptain to tho Mounted Rille Brigade in place of Major E. J. Hulbert, D.S 0 who has returned to New Zealand.

For Special Service. The following officers have been seconded for special service with the British armv - Lieutenant S. T. Seddon. M.C.. Auckland Regiment; Lieutenant C. F. Seaward. M( Auckland Regiment. Lieutenant T. E. Y. Seddon. who has been appointed adjutant to Maji-r-General Sir A. H. Russell, is promoted captain. Lieutenant-Colonel D. S. Wylie. who has been commanding No. 1 New Zealand General Hospital since his arrival in England, will shortly return to New Zealand to control the establishment of a new orthopaedic hospital in the Dominion. He and Colonel Mill, lately commanding No. 2 Now Zealand General 'Hospital, are both at present studying military orthopadics in Great Britain. Major P. H. Buck (To Rangihiroa). D.5.0.. who left New Zealand with the Maori Contingent, and served with them until recently, has now been appointed to command a section of the Field Ambulance Sub-Lieutenant G. C. Maltby, R.N.V.R.. of Auckland, has been promoted lieutenant. Lieutenant J. W. L. Stubbs, R.N.V.R Auckland, has been up in town on short leave. He is stationed at present at Penzance. He lias been mentioned in despatches for services in connection with fighting U boats. Tho following awards and decorations aro announced in N.Z.E.F.
