PICNIO AT MOTUTAPU.
The water excursion and picnic organised by the Women's Mutual Aid Society and Returned Soldiers' Association was held on Saturday. The Kestrel left at 9.30 a.m. with a large number of excursionists, and • the 1.30 p.m. boat was also filled. During the morning the children's sports were held. The baby show created great interest, and brought forward a large number of competitors. The day's outing was in _ qvory way a great success, thanks to the untiring efforts of the committee under the guidance of Mrs. von Stunner. Messrs. 0. H. Lethaby and A. Thompson acted as judges. Mr. W. A. Knox was handicappcr and starter. The sports result are:— , Girls' Race— Munco, 1; M. Yarwood, 2; M. Cliff 3. Boys' Race.— Lewis, Is T. M. Keenrfn, 21 H. Mace, 3. Returned Soldiers' Handicap, 120yds.—J. W. Gray, 1: E. Ncary, 2; A. Linch, 3. Soldiers' Wives' Race.—Mrs. Parker, 1; Mis. Batten, 2; Mrs. McMahon, 3. ' Singlo Ladies' Race.—Miss Morrison, 1; Miss Glover, 2. . \ Soldiers' Championship, 150 yds. —E. Learey, 1; J. W. E. Gray, 2; E. Power, 3 Open Handicap, 160 yds.—A. Keonan, 1; G. Moody, 2; T.
