BANKRUPT HAIRDRESSER.

LEASE OF A RACEHORSE.

A haiudiiksser, named James Sharkey, of Groat North Road, Auckland, has been adjudicated a bankrupt. A statement of his affairs has been forwarded to the official assignee, in which the name of George Barakat. tobacconist, Waihi, appears as the only creditor, the amount being £91 7s 10d. About September, 1916, George Barekat liersuaded him to toko a lease of the racehorse Revelation for a period of two vears, the conditions being that bankrupt should pay all fees and give the owner n percentage of the horse's winnings. Eventually the horse broke down, the bankrupt having spent £53 for training. Mr. Barakat subsequently suod for alleged deterioration m the value of the horse and for the profits that the horse might have won had lie raced, obtaining judgment for £91 7s 10(1.
