STRIKE AT OTIRA TUNNEL.
ENDEAVOUR TO HURRY DECISION. [DY TELEGRAPH.-PIIKSS ASSOCIATION'.] CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday. Telegraphic advice from Otira to-night states that no word has yet been received from Wellington regarding the report ol Mr. F. W. Furkert, inspecting engineer for the Public Works Department, on the strike of tho men employed on the Arthur's Pass Tunnel. A meeting of the Miners' .Union was held this afternoon, when it was decided that an endeavour be mado to hurry along the decision. It is feared that if the strike- continues much longer many of the m?n will have got employment elsewhere.
