♦ COURT MAKES REDUCTIONS. NOT ACCEPTABLE TO OBJECTORS. [U? TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] ,'' TE KUITI. Thursday. The Assessment Court continued its sitting to-day, but succeeded in disposing of only ' four out of some ■50 objections lodged. Reductions of 10, 12,' and 15 per cent, were made on sections valued at from £30 to £70 per foot. . ; M The reductions are not acceptable to the ffl j objectors, who express their intention of j asking the Government to appoint .a j Royal Commission to inquire into town I values. The Borough Council intimated ! that no further evidence would be adduced ,7; } in regard to properties in the main business street. • v The hearing of objections to values of properties in the residential portion of the .town will be commenced to-morrow, and ! will occupy the Court till Saturday. Owing j to the protracted sitting here the Court, which was to sit at Otorohanga to-morrow* / will not be able to do so.
