SWIMMING.

FIRST CLUB NIGHT.

The Auckland City Council recently acceded to a request from the Auckland Centre, New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, that the Tepid Bath be set aside every alternate Monday as a club night. At a meeting of the committee held last evening it was decided to hold the first club night next Monday, when the Akarana Swimming Club will have charge of the arrangements. The Akarana Swimming Club has been granted permits by the Auckland Centre to hold galas on Wednesday, December 12, January _ 28, 1918, February 13, March 13, and April 10. During the season this club will decide the 75Yds North New Zealand Championship. IOOYds Junior Ladies' and 220Yda Ladies' Championships, and the Men's and Ladies' Polo Championships. For the men's polo championship a handsome challenge shield has been donated by Mr. W. J. Ralph, patron of the Akarana Club.--
