ueuienannjoionej d. a. uunwono, chairman of the hon. dental staff, wrote stating that, on the board's authority, ho had obtained the necessary instruments, etc., for the new dental hospital. That institution, he stated, was now the best equipped and most up-to-date in the Dominion. A deputation representing the Furniture Trades Association was received. It was asked that opportunity should be given to all in the trade to tender for hospital furnishings. Another request was that when furniture was required, as for the board's new offices, it should be tendered for on specifications, not on samples made by one particular firm at the instance of the board's architect. Subsequently the board passed a resolution approving tne action of the architect and house manager in the matters referred to. ft Arrangements for the opening of the board'u new offices and of the Costley Homo infirmary ward were left to the chairman. The medical sunerintendent reported that there were at present 428 patients in the hospital. The Costley Home Committee reported the present number of inmates as 237.
