RUSSIANS RESISTING GERMAN ATTACKS AT RIGA.

ATTACK UPON FINLAND COAST FORECASTED. Admiralty per Wireless. LONDON. Oct. 15. A Russian official message says: The enemy occupied Arensburg, on Oesol Island, on Saturday. Their aerial and naval forces are supporting the land operations. Squadrons of enemy cruisers and torpedo-boats attempted to force the entrance to Irben channel, to the south of Oesel Island, but our long-range guns on Oesel Island cover further movements into the Riga Gulf. Enemy torpedo-boats between Oesel ana Dago Islands pressed back our patrol boats in the direction of Moon Sound, but our naval craft were reinforced, and compelled the enemy to retire. Renter STOCKHOLM. Oct. 15. The Germans are expected to attempt to seize the Aaland Islands, off the Finnish coast, and effect a landing in Finland before the ice forms, with a view to attacking Helsingfors. Australian and N.Z. and Router. LONDON. Oct. 15. A German official message says: We made rapid progress in Oesel Island, repeatedly overcoming the enemy. We cut off the Sworbe peninsula from the north. Our ships silenced the land batteriesWe are advancing towards the east coast, and the Russians are retreating'in order to escape over the mole connecting Oesel Island with Moon Island.
