He came to New Zealand nearly 60 years ngo in one of the Blackwood vessels, subsequently joining the Union Com. pany, which was. then in its infancy. THE* AWAHOU. The Richardson; steamer Awohou arrived from the East Coast bays yesterday morning, and berthed at the King's Wharf. She is timed to sail for the bays to-morrow evening.

THE KOWHAI. ' The Kowhai. «n route from Wellington to Auckland, via Napier, left the latter port on -Saturday night. She is due here this morning, and on arrival will berth at the Queen's Wharf to discharge her cargo of case oil.
