NEW CANADIAN CABINET.
COALITION CONSUMMATED. THREE LIBERAL MINISTERS. A. and N.Z. OTTAWA, Oct. 12. A Coalition Cabinet has been formed, with the Conservatives in the majority. Mr. Newton Rowell, leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, Mr. Frank Carvel], Sir Wilfrid Laurier's former lieutenant, and Major-General Mewbum have joined the Cabinet. The press welcomes the consummation enthusiastically, and hopes it will lead to the more aggressive conduct of the war. The formation of a War Cabinet of seven is likely. The Cabinet has been sworn in. The more important portfolios have been allotted as follows ;, ' Premier: Sir Robert L. Borden (Conservative). Militia: Major-General Mewburn.. Immigration: Mr. J. A. Calder (Liberal). Interior: Mr. Arthur Meighen. (Gonservßr tive). Agriculture: Mr. T. Crerar. Customs: Mr. A. L. Sifton (Liberal). President of .the Council: Mr. N. W. Rowell. (Liberal). Railways: Mr. J. D. R«d (Conservative). Mines: Mr. Martin Burrell (Conser- , vative). Overseas Service: Sir Edward Kemp (Conservative).
