SICK AND WOUNDED MEN.

THIRTY AUCKLANDERS ARRIVE. J A pabty. of invalided soldiers, numbering about thirty, arrived in Auckland by the Main Trunk express yesterday. They are portion of a contingent that reached Wellington on Saturday, when an official welcome was tendered them by the Mayor of that city. All the Auckland men were able to go direct to their homes, as none of their injuries or complaints are now serious enough to require treatment in hospital. There was no official reception in Auckland. In ths connection 'the Mayor, Mr. J. H. Gunson, stated on Saturday that he had arranged with the Mayor of Wellington that a reception be tendered to the men there. This arrangement was made in view of the fact that the men, on arrival here, would be fatigued after their long train journey, I whilst in many cases men who left the ' train en route would not receive a public I welcome,
