, MEETING OF THE * COUNCIL. *r A MEEmd of the council of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society was held last night, Mr. R. Reynolds, president, siding. The secretary .reported that two cock pheasants had been sent to Tauranga. The arrangement of the * Helensvillo Society's boundaries was left in the hands of Mr. Grayson. ■.-.-Mr. J. 'C. Sturges, Korakonui, and Mr. W. H. Potter, ..Waitafce'ro, were" appointed honorary rangers. In regard, to the practice of placing' miamias in the middle of a lake for the purpose of shooting ducks, it was decided to write to the- Minister for-Internal Affairs requesting a definition of tho society's powers in the matter. ■■ The ranger reported the loss of the society's fry from Rotorua, and it was decided- to apply to the Government to increase the society's supply of fry next season to 500,000, in '• order to make up the deficiency. *;, ' , j
