A largo crowd, including soldiers, ] . assembled outside the building, broke . through the police cordon protecting the l i) church, and howled down tho chairman, i- It took possession of tho building and ] sang the National Anthem and patriotic songs. Someone started a fire besido the ' pulpit intending to fburn down the , church. The crowd rushed outside cry- ■ ing "Fire." Tho police extinguished tho flames, which caused little damage. ■ |
