IMPROVEMENT IN MORALE OF TROOPS REPORTED. INSPIRED RUMOUR OF NORTHERN OFFENSIVE. Australian and X.Z. (Received 9.30 p.m.) LONDON. August 20. The Commander-in-Chief of the Russian armies, General Korniloff, reports that the morale of the troops has improved. He declares that the enemy movement on the south-western front has been stopped. The commander of the Tenth Army states that the rumour of a threatened German offensive against Riga has been spread by German agents.
