BOWLING.
CARLTON CLUB SOCIAL. ' A very successful card party and dance was hold on Wednesday evening to ojjon the Carlton Club's new social hall at Fairfax Road. During tho past few weeks the- interior of the hall had been finished off. The hall, which is well lighted, presents a most pleasing appearance The improvements have been carried out under tho supervision of Mr. J. M. Thompson. There was a large attendance of members and their friends- Euchre was played on one side of the hall and bridge on tho other Tho ladies' prize for euchre was won by Mrs. Coltmu-n, jun., and tho gentlemen's by Mr. J. Williamson. In tho bridge games. Mrs. Reynolds won the ladies' prize and Mr. Wilson tho gentlemen's prize. The supper arrangements were carried out by Mesdamos Lamb and Perry, and the cards were under the control of Messrs. Lamb and Laurence. _ After supper, dancing was indulged in until midnight. It is the intention of the Carlton Club to hold a, series of these socials and card parties during the next two months.
