FEARED LOSS OF STEAMER
VOYAGE TO RABAUL
AUSTRALIANS ON BOARD.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 10.20 a.m.) MELBOURNE. Aug. 15. The Navy Office reports that the steamer Matunga, owned by Messrs. Bums, Philp and Company, is seven days overdue on the jonn-ey from Sydney to Rahaol. It is fear#d she was lost as the result of an internal explosion. She carried a small military detachment for Babaul.
