MINERS PHTHISIS ACT.
[BY TELEGRAPHSPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.]
WELLINGTON, Wednesday. It was stated in Parliament to-day by the Hon. A. M. Myers that the Government is not at present prepared to amend the Miners Phthisis Act in the direction of extending the period of two years during which widow s of deceased miners receive a pension, or of increasing the amount of the pensions.
