ALLEGED BIGAMY.
CHARGE AGAINST OLD MAN. [BT TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DTJNEDIN. Wednesday. At the Police Court to-day, George Balsille, aged 75, was charged with going through a form of marriage with Barbara Jjawson Strong, aged 76, when be was already married. Defendant had not been living with his wife for ten years, and married again in January last. Defendant said he bad not heard positively during seven years prior to his second marriage that his wife was alive. The registrar took him to a solicitor and defendant explained the position to him. Defendant, who reserved his defence, was committed for trial. ' In subsequent proceedings separation was granted, and the allowance to his wife fixed at £1 weekly.
