CANADIANS MAKE PROGRESS AT THREE POINTS.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON July 3 Writing from British headquarters Mr- Philip Gibbs states that after heavy artillery firing at Lens on Sunday, the Canadians pushed further through Avion. Farther south they advanced near Fresnoy and Oppy. The Canadians celebrated the Dominion's anniversary by a special shoot at mid-day. All the howitzers fired a tremendous salvo on the enemy's lines. The Germans were apparently annoyed, and retaliated with great quantities of eight-inch shells.
