GALLANTRY REWARDED
TWO AUCKLAND OFFICERS.
MEMBERS OF AIR SERVICE.
A CABLEGRAM has been received by Sir James Allen, Minister for Defence, from the High Commissioner, Sir Thomas Mackenzie, stating that the following honours have been conferred on New Zealanders : — Distinguished Service Cross: FlightLieutenant Thomas Grey Culling, Royal Naval Air Service, son of Mr. T. S. Culline Victoria Avenue, Remuera. Military Cross: Second-Lieutenant Charles Edward Blayney, Royal Flying Corps, son of Mr. Blayney, Devonport. Lieutenant Culling was recently reSorted to his father as missing on June 8 last. He is 21 years of age, and went Home in August, 1915, joining the Naval Flying Corps. He has bean in France for about nine months. Lieutenant Culling, who came to Auckland from Dunedin with his parents eleven years ago, was educated at King's College, Auckland. When he enlisted he was in the employ of Messrs. A. J. Entrican and Co.
