INTRIGUING FOE PEACE.
"BARGAINS". FOR JAPAN. United Service. LONDON, June 8.
The Daily Mail states that attempts to delude Russia into a separate peace having been abortive the German Government is now dangling a similar bait before Japan, impudently suggesting that Germany is prepared to bargain.for Kaiau-Chau and the German colonies in the South Sea. The German Government'has apparently empowered the Vossische Zeitung to state that Germany is prepared to cancel the' lease of Kaiau-Chau for money, and is prepared to deal regarding the future of German South Sea colonies because Germany holds such extensive territorial pawns in Europe that she could easily impose upon France the: cost of compensations to Japan.!
