BILLIARDS.
AUCKLAND CLUB. Double-scull? trials will be held by the Auckland Rowing Club this week-end for trophies presented by Mcsdames Carder and Fleming, and the following crews have becu selected to take part, tho stroke in each case being named first:—Keefe, Basham; Fleming, R. Stevenson; Lovett, W. Stevenson; Clleal, Benjamin; Hamilton, Cleaver; R. Carder, Hawes.
DINER TOURNAMENT. The third round of the Alcock Diner tournament was continued in tho Alcock rooms last evening, the players being 11. Burns 'receives 20) and A- Burton (receives 40). The latter has improved a good deal since last season and this game was well contested from start to finish Both players reached the half-way mark togother and also at 150 and 174 they were even. Burn" drew away after this and by a nice 12 br/ ik established a lead and Burton failed to catch him. Game was called : Burns 200. Burton 183. The tournament will be continued on Monday evening.
