NEW MEDICAL BOARD APPOINTED.
GREAT RUSH OF WORK.
The officials of both the Auckland District Medical Boards arrived in Auckland yesterday. Arrangements have now been made that a board will sit in the city | continuously to deal with cases as they {offer. A record number of men presented i themselves for examination yesterday, the I boards being faced with more work than jit was possible to deal with. Should this ] continue, men who anticipate their notice , to appear for examination will run the risk ; of finding that the board will not be able I to take them at the time they attend J In order to cope with the heavy work j in the Auckland Military District, a third j board has been appointed for examination I duties. It will consist of Surgeon-General S. Skerman, honorary surgeon to His J Excellency the Governor, and Colonel MacDonel!. The new board is expected to commence duty about the middle of the month.
WRONGLY IN THE BALLOT. Amonj those whose names erroneously appeared in the last ballot is H. Vivian Choyce, who left Auckland over 18 months ago. to offer his services to the Imperial authorities, and who has since that time been employed at Woolwich .Arsenal. Mr. Clioyce's other two sons are both on active sen-ice, Major Choyce having been head surgeon at Alexandria Hospital in Egypt over two years, and Sub-Lieutenant Choyce being on motor patrol service. E. Wheatcroft, builder, of Mangapeehi, left with one of the reinforcements a few months ago. Erie McKay, chemist's assistant, Waiuku, volunteered a year ago, and was accepted, but was uot called up on account of his occupation. W. P. Storey, of the N.Z.R.A., was rejected three times, on account of an old operation. His brother is serving in the British Cavalry in Palestine.
