NORTHCOTE SCHOOL.
The Northcote School Committee met last night, Mr. J. p. "McPhail »reaiding. The headmaster reported 'the roll number of the main school to be 578, and tha. average attendance 538, while the Birkent head side school roll was 89 and the aver« age attendance 80.2. The children and staff had arranged a sale of work in aid of patriotic funds at the school to-morrow afternoon, which the chairman would offi« daily open.
The invitation of the Henderson School. Committee to a conference of school com-: mittees on June 16 for the purpose of arranjjing a working platform for school committees was accented.
Mr. W. H. Barnes was thanked for 9, donation of 150 flowering plants for tha borders of the school garden.
