FIRE AT ORAKEI.
SEVEN-ROOMED HOUSE BURNED.
A seven-hoomed house, with all its contents, the property of a Maori woman named Here Arama, in the main Orakei Bay, was completely destroyed by fire early last evening.
The house was a wooden building, built about three years ago, and was one of the finest structures in the bay. Mrs. Arama, the only occupant, had gone out to tea at a neighbour's place, and no one was in the building at the time the fire occurred. The occupant of the house next door states that at about seven o'clock he noticed flames issuing from the windows, and immediately raised an alarm, bub by that time the fire had too good a hold to allow Of any of the contents being saved. It is understood that both the house «nd the contents, which were considered very valuable, were insured.
