PRISONERS OF WAR.
REPORT FROM LONDON. [BY TELEGRAPH.-PRESS association-.] EtUNEDIN. Saturday. A' report in connection with the assistance forwarded to British prisoners of war in Turkey and Germany has been received by Sir James Allen from the High Commissioner, who states:—"l have received a copy of the report from the American Ambassador at ConstantinoDlo on the subject of supplies to British prisoners of war in Turkey. Considerable consignments were sent to Afin, Karahissar, Angoria, and Bilemdil Pozanti, where the majority ot our prisoners are interned. The following New Zealand prisoners in Turkey have been transferred to, Constantinople :— IVooper J. C. Mclennan, Auckland Mounted Rifles; Private Norman Steel, Wellington Battalion; Leading Stoker Archibald Wilson. Letters and acknowlfdgmonts have also been received from Private N. Steel, Private G. F. Monk, Wellington Battalion, and Private R. Sur'genor, nil of whom are very well. Communications have been received* from prisoners in Germany during the laet fortnight, and the experience of all Prisoners of War Associations indicates serious irregularity with rogard to the delivery of parcels. The only acknowledgement sinco last report is from Private A. S. Hontcith."
