ANOTHER HAUHAU RAID, I SETTLERS' EXPERIENCE. I (From the HE!UI<B of May 30, 1867J j By the schooner Hope, which has arrived from Opotiki, we have intelligence of rather serious import. On the 21st inst. two settlers come into the camp at Opotiki and reported that they, togetliei with two other settler? who were living: in a whare at Big Guard, had received intimation that the Hauhaus intended to attack them, and the threat was sub sequently earned into effect. One even ing a party of natives was seen approaching the whare fully armed, and the four men immediately left their whare and ran for their lives, two taking one road and two another. The pair fortunate enough to reach the camp say they ie" about £80 in cash and cheque* at the whare. which the natives would be sunto have taken (this fear was, subsequently confirmed). Alter taking possession of all the provisions, etc., the whaie w.-.s burned to the ground, and it is (ear.-l that the other two men may have f.d.iv into the hands, of the natives. Parties are being sent out daily, but no tia>e ■' the I men can be found. t
