OPENING OF SEASON, The club competitions in the various, grades playing under tho Auckland Hockey rAsm-, ciation were opened :at ■ Rcmuera on Saturday. Conditions ; were good tor the cape, and tho ground in excellent condition,* though, a little ;heavy on>account' of the recent wet weather.,. An excellent muster of enthusiasts appeared for the opening matches ' though the great majority of teams wero necessarily composed of young players.
