BRITISH ADVANCE FROM BAPAUME TO CAMBRAI.

CAPTURE OF A VILLAGE NORTH OF THE ROAD. DETERMINED COUNTERATTACKS OF THE ENEMY DRIVEN OFF. Australian and N.Z. Cable. (Received 7 p.m.) LONDON, March 26. The latest report from Sir Douglas Haig states: "We captured the ,;. village of Lagnicourt, north of the Bapaume-Cambrai Road, this morning. During the afternoon the enemy made two determined counter-attacks, but were driven off. A third attack was caught in the open by our artillery and was not developed." Lagnicourt lies a little over six miles north-east of Bapaume. Beuametz, a village the same distance from Bapaume, south of tho Cambrai road, was captured a few days ago.
