LONDON MARKETS. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT, [BY TELEGRAM.—PEESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Monday. , The High Commissioner's market report,, dated London, March 24, is as follows,, quotations, unless otherwise specified, being average market prices on spot :— MEAT. All descriptions of frozen meat are in active demand owing to short supply. Only a email quantity under Government control has been released each week for home consumption. Quotations arei— Zealand mutton, 8ld; ewe mutton, Bjd; Argentina mutton, heavy-weight Hid. light-weight llld; New Zealand lamb, 10d: Argentine lamb, 13d. New Zealand and Argentine beef: No supplies are available. Pork, lid, DAIRY PRODUCE. The maximum prices for both butter and' cheese have not been changed. They will remain in force until April 13. Lower prices are being quoted for colonial butters. Buyers are holding back, partly owing to tho uncertainty regarding the maximum prices. Quotations for butter are:—New Zealand unsalted, 204s to 2125: salted, 210s to 218s. Australian salted, 202s to 208s; unsalted, 200s to 2043. French. 212 ato 2175. Hie cheese market continues firm. Canadian white, and coloured 1625, English Chedi dar 1655, Dutch Cheddar 150s United States flats 160s. HEMP. The market is firm at an advance. The supply falls short of the demand.
