FIGHTING FAMILIES.
FTVE BROTHERS ON SERVICE. Mr. Samuel Houston, an old-time Auckand resident, writes from Launceston, rasmania, asserting liis claim, as an exT ew Zealander, to be ranked as the head if a fighting family, though the lads ,hemselves be not New Zealand-born. Mr. Houston has five sons, all of whom ire taking part in the war. One was wounded at Gallipoli, and another was wounded in France, while one is serving n the French trenches, and the other ywo are in Egypt. Mr. Houston's father 'ought in the Maori war, and on his own 3art ho served in the old Auckland Naval Brigade, under Captain Lo Roy.
