FREEZING WORKS STRIKE.
DEPARTMENT PROSECUTIONS. [BY TELEGRAPH.t-PRESS association.] WELLINGTON. Wednesday. The Labonr Department is taking proceedings against freezing chamber hands concerned in the recent dispute at WestGeld and Southdown freezing works, on a charge of failing to submit the dispute for investigation before ceasing work. This is (ho first case of the kind under the Labonr Disputes Investigation Act of 1913. The Department is also proceeding against tho Wellington Boilermakers' Union for allegedly inciting a strike some weeks ago. The union, it is alleged, decided that no overtime should be worked and that the men should refuse io work for any employer except tho one dv whom they were employed. = ■
