SPECIAL ORDER MAKING DRAINAGE .„• BY-LAWS, Publio Notice is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Mount Eden Borough Council held on January 15, 1917, the following resolution was passed:—ln pursuance of the powers conferred on it by 'The Municipal Corporations Act. 1908,' and its Amendments, 'The Publio Health Act. 1908,' and its Amendments,. and of each and every other power in that behalf enabling it, the Mount Eden Borough Council hereby makes bv Special Resolution intended to operate as a Special Order, the following By-lnws t» be known as the Sanitary By-laws, the object and purport of which are' as follows, namely : (a) Requiring all owners or occupiers of a house .or premises within 100 ft of a sewer to provide a drain to carry sewage and waste liquids to the said sewer. (b) Providing that all work of laying or connecting with sewers and drains must be under the control of the Council. (c) Forbidding , any person to permit any waste liquids of any manufacturing process to flow into any sewer without the sanction of the Council being first obtained. (d) Requiring all persons who propose to carry out work in connection with drains or sewers to submit plans of . same, and obtain permit before commencing such work and requiring such persons to whom a permit is issued to deposit a sum as security for any damage that may be done. (e) Requiring drain layers to take out annual license. (0 Specifying particulars of materials to be used in drainage work, and manner in which work is to be done. (g) Regulating the method of construction, position, and uses of sewage tanks. (h) Prescribing the materials to be used in plumbing work and the method in which such work is to be executed. (j) Regulating the erection and construction of slop sinks and of lavatories. (k) Requiring any owner or occupier whom the Council may by notice require so to do to pull. down, remove, alter, or add to any sanitary convenience, drain, sewage tank, or sanitary fitting whatsoever on cr connected with the property of such owner or occupier, or to otherwise comply with the provisions of this By-law. (1) Fixing penalties for any breach of this By-law. • The said Resolution will be submitted for confinnatkln to a meeting of the Mount Eden Borough Council to be held at the Council Chambers.
