PRISONERS OF WAR
NEW ZEALANDERS HELPED. CLOTHING AND MONEY. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Rooeived 1 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 7 A report by Sir. Thomas Maokenric on assistance rendered to New Zealand prisoners of war shows that in addition to parcels of clothing, each man receives nine shillings' worth of food weekly, and cigarettes and tobacco fortnightly. Prisoners in Germany receive 2s 6d a week pocket money, and those in Turkey from 10s 4d to 12s 2d a week, according to the locality where they are imprisoned. The men receive a good local bread supply. Great difficulty is experienced, in sending parcels, which sometimes are from three to tor. months in transmission, but they receive money easier. ' •
