SUBMARINE RECORD.
TOTAL OF 128 SHIPS SUNK. LONDON. Jan. 1. Reuters correspondent at Amsterdam .States that Commander Valcntiner (a German submarine captain) has been decorated with the Order of Merit, " for sinking 128 ships, of a total tonnage of 282,000, including a French gunboat, a submarine, transports, and coal steamer?. Ho had numerous engagements with armed hostile ships. He captured two guns and shelled Funchal, where he sank the ships Surprise, Conborough, and Dacia."
