I AUCKLAND CENTRAL CIRCUIT. « ? The quarterly meeting of the AucYlnnd central 'circuit of the Methodist Church was held on Monday evening, the Rev. C. H. Laws presiding. Forty officials were present, representing sis churches. The membership returns for the quarter -jive the following figures :Senior, 749 junior, 327. Sunday schools, 117 teachers and 1170 scholars, with an average attendance of 77(i- The amount paid to the Home Mission Fund during 1916 was £196, and to the Foreign Mission Fund £123. It was resolved that tho collection for the local . preachers' society be taken in February. Mr. Andrew Messer retired from the position of senior circuit steward, after 9j years' work, and was specially thanked for his sen-ices. Mr. T. H. Chapman, junior circuit steward, was elected to fill the vacancy, the election of his successor in the junior position being deferred. Messrs. T. H. Chapman, J. Watkinson, T. W. Jones, and R. T. Sando were • appointed to represent the circuit at the ; annual conference, to be held at Welling* , ton in February-
