Mr. C. C. Bnckland, of Cambridge, left for Wellington by yesterday's mid-day Main Trunk express.
Mr. Jackson Palmer, Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, was a passenger by the outward Main Trunk express last evening.
Mr. Harold Beauchamp, chairman, of the Bank of New Zealand, i? exported back from Canada and the United State? m about a fortnight.
Mr. C. H. Poole, M.P. for Auckland West, lett for Wellington bv vesterdav's mid-day express, to attend" to Departmental matters that concern his constituents.

Adjutant W. Winton, of the Salvation Army has received word from tie Defence headquarters, Wellington that he has been selected for chaplains work in Egypt. Mrs. Vinton and their family will remain in Auckland during the adjutant's absence.
Major J. L. Sleeman, T.G.S., director of military training, who 1 ad been <-,-, a visit of inspection to the Whangarei district, returned to Auckland last evening. He was accompanied bv Colonel 0. W. S. Patterson, 0.C.D., and Captain G. C. S. Dyer. A.A.G. All the cadet companies in the district were inspected. and instructive addresses were given by Major Sice, man. He will leave tor Wellington by the mid-day Main Trunk train to-day.
