ROUMANIAN CAMPAIGN.
OBJECTIVE OF THE F V EMY.
STRATEGIC AND ECONOMIC.
POLITICAL EFFECT SOUGHT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received 1.30 a.m.) LONDON. Oct. 31. Dr. E J. Dillon, correspondent for the Daily Telegraph, writing from Rome, says Austrians and Germans are eager to reach Pitesci—half-way between the Transylvanian frontier and Bucharest—and the level road towards Bucharest, before the middle of November. If they succeed they will achieve not only a strategical and economic gain, but cut deep into the political situation. They must be frustrated at all costs.
