THE EXPORT OF BUTTER.
RESTRICTION OBJECTED TO.
WAIKATO DAIRY COMPANIES.
[by telegraph.— correspondent.]
Hamilton. Monday. A meeting of representatives of 23 dairy companies in the South Auckland and King Country districts, held at Hamilton on Saturday, carried a motion of protest against the action of the Government in connection with the restriction of the export of butter. The motion, which was moved by Mr. J. Boddie, To Kuiti, and carried unanimously, was as follows:-- " That this meeting of the executive of the South Auckland Dairy Association protests in the strongest possible manner against the proposal to deprive the dairy farmers of the Dominion of their undoubted right to sell their produce at its market value, and maintains that insufficient cause has been shown for such unwarranted interference with an industry that has done so much for the Dominion, and resolves that steps be taken to convene meetings of tho dairy farmers in different parts of the Dominion with a view to taking steps to, if possible, prevent such a gross injustice being perpetrated on a hard-working section of the community." The resolution will be forwarded to the Minister for Agriculture.
