Sergeant Henry Williams Justin, vho is reported wounded, was born in Dunedin and educated at the Port Chalmers High School, after which he followed sea life for two years. Later he was apprenticed to the engineering trade in Christcburth, but on his parents removing to Auckland ! he completed his apprenticeship under his I father. Mr. Henry Justin, workshop manager for A. and T. Burt, Ltd. He j again removed to th» South Island, and | was in the employ of the Otago Harbour i Board when he enlisted. Sergeant Justin j left New Zealand with one of the earlv ! contingents, and was twice wounded at { Gallipoli. He took part in the hard fightI ing on the peninsula in August of last j year, where he was wounded for the 'second time and despatched to hospital. On recovery he went back to Gallipoli the third time and took part in the evacuation, afterwards being transferred to France. - PRIVATE W. J. STOODLET. Private William John Stoodley. killed iin action, was the onlv son of Mr. and I Mrs. W. J. Stoodley. of" Paxkfield Terrace, j off Khyber Pass. He was born in Cardiff, j Wales, and was 26 years of age. He was i educated at Home, and afterwards fol- | lowed the occupation of a pork butcher. j Private Stoodley arrived in New Zealand 1 about three years ago, and enlisted for the ! front in the early days of the war. Ha j left New Zealand for Egypt early in 1915, ' and went through the Oaiiipoli campaign i without injury, and was finally t^aasI ferred to France. I PRIVATE H. L HEYWOOD. i Private H. L. Hey wood, who is reported '. Ito have died of wounds, was the eldest j son of the late Mr. Henry Heywood, of i j North Albertland. He received his edu- • I cation in that district, and was after- • j wards employed by the Public Works i I Department at Otamatea, where he took -! a keen interest in outdoor sports. Private ' j Heywood was one of the first to answer > J the call to arms, and left for Egypt in 1 i 1914. He was wounded twice at Galli- - i poli, and also suffered from an attack of ■ i enteric fever. On his recovery he again " I served his country on the peninsula, and - | took part in the* evacuation, afterwards i 1 being transferred to France.

PRIVATE E. MOORE. Private Edward Moore, who was killed in action on Julv 17. was a son of Mrs. E. A. A. Moore." of court Street. Grey Lynn. Private Moore was born in Leicester, England. 18 years ago. He had I taken a prominent part in school Rugby football in Leicester, and was well known to many Leicester people in Auckland. PRIVATE J. W. BURGESS. William Burgess, who was wounded in the left arm on July 17, is the voimgest son of Mr. J. L. Burgess. Arabi Street, Edendale. In the official casualtv list the address was given as Edendale. Southland, and this mistake has since been corrected by the Defence Department. Trivate Burgess was a plasterer in the employ of Messrs. Lemaa Brothers before leaving on active servic* 18 months ago.
