MONEY URGENTLY NEEDED.
[BY TELEGRAPH. — TRESS AsSKI.WIONJ CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Thk Canterbury branch of the Navy League has received the following cablegram from Lord Beresford : —" Navy League Relief Committee definitely decline to hand money intenued to supplement provision made by Parliament to the Statutory Committee. Government must not be relieved of its obligations. Your money will be urgently needed fur special cases. This view is universallyupheld here. We work in harmony with the Statutory Committee, but it must not control our special fund. Kindly publish this cable."'
