The King has written to the lat<j Captain Fryatt's widow, expressing his abhorrence of and deep indignation concerning the outrage committed by the Germans in killing him- Her husband's action in defending his ship against the enemy submarine, was, His Majesty says, a noble instance of the resource and self-reliance so characteristic of the members of the merchant service.
