LONDON FASHION NOTES.

Shoes for the Season. As soon as the warm weather comes, the high boots will be put away and shoes will again be in vogue. To wear with white suits we shall see black patentleather shoes with white tops, and with navy bine suits there are the prettiest or navy blue Morocco shoes. The favourite black suede shoe with its sude buckle is again in fashion, and most girls of moderate dress allowances will probably choose this kind of shoe in preference to more showy footgear. i Puritan Collars. Very sweet and dainty are the new : Puritan muslin collars scalloped at the edge and made still more dainty with embroidery. For the young girl they are just the thing to finish her pretty patterned frock- In addition to the Puritan collar you will also see the fashionable full basque that completes the blouse bodice. Then there are the embroidered muslin cuffs to match the collar and there is also another new sleeve. This is the full bishop's sleeve ending in the tight buttoned cuff. These are all very pleasing ideas of fashion. The Third Empire. The modes of the Third Empire are making very definite progress, and the beautiful fabrics of the 70's are with usThere has been a wonderful effort to entirely change all fashion, to take us, in fact, from the clinging sheath-like robes into the realms of fluttering frills and flounces. There is certainly the danger of the bustle, and the crinoline is deja un fait accompli. However, that does not matter, for the crinoline, as we see it, made by Parisian fingers, is such a dainty light affair, that is can only advantage a woman's toilette, and give the flare so much to be desired. Mousseline Blouses. There are many attractive blouses for the early spring season showing, made of mousseline of one shade or another. A remarkably attractive, but plain model was made of black mousseline with a cream white lace collar, and under sleeves of cream white net lace as a relieving note- There were also ornaments ana buttons of a creamy white shade embroidered in a dull blue tone. Another blouse of green mousseline was combined with liberty satin. The body oj the House front and upper part of the sleeves were of the mousseline. The blouse frontwas fastened with small green crystal buttons. * * New Hat Trimmings. new hat trimmings are particulate dainty and pretty, and it is lucky *"'• who" have to be economical and only buy things that will stand real hard wear, that ribbons and the tiny little flowers, which were so popular last year, are again first and foremost in this"season's millinery fashions. Of course, there are new ways of using both ribbons and flowers. Last year stiff corded ribbons, matching the hat in colour, and pleated into the most severe of ornaments, were all the rage ; "his season we tie the softest makes of ribbons, displaying every hue- of the rainbow, into carelessly artistic bows, sometimes with long streamers But such frivolities are not for everv-dav hard w ear. Pretty little ruches o"f gathered or*bo,v. -pleated ribbons are laid round the crown of the all-fashionable sailor or close-fitting mushroom straws, or the ribbon is divided into short lengths and made into- separate cabuchons, which are grouped on the hat. Brevities. Lavender, with a dash of emerald green, composes a fascinating colour scheme. Ostrich trimmings are used again. Hats, evening gowns and parasols are trimmed with it. Soutache braiding is having great vogue. They are even trimming linen frocks with it. If you are clever with the paint brush, yon can paint the trimming of a little girl's hat. Most utility coats are long enough to cover the skirt.

Patent-leather side-laced boots are more fashionable than ever- "

Hats soar higher than ever. Veils are worn with hats of all shapes. It looks at if ornamental hat pins would soon be in favour.

Newest of all combs is the Spanish comb, fan-shaped, that fits into the high form of hair dressing. Sleeves of chiffon are found in the newest gowns-
