The first month's efforts for tho gift parcel scheme resulted in the equivalent of 29 parcels being contributed. GORDONTO3T. SCHOOL MANAGEMENT. At the annual meeting of householders lit Gordon tor, a combined committee, representing the Gordonton and Komokorau districts, was elected. Manv householders advocated reverting to the original system of electing a separate committee for each district, on the ground that the combined committee was unworkable. It was decided to urge upon the Board of Education the _ desirability of adjusting tho school districts between Taupiri and Hamilton, with a view to giving each; school self-government. Tho development of the districts between Hamilton and Taupiri has resulted in a, need for school accommodation, to meet which a school is shortly to be erected at Hillside, with accommodation for 40 children. Mr. Salmon, of Komokorau, is tho contractor.
