SIR EDWARD GREY'S REPLY.
(Received April 14. 12.55 fc.rs )
London, April 13.
Mr. W. H. Page, United States Ambassador in London, has written to Sir Edwa/d Grey, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, protesting against the provisions of the Trading with the Enemy Act, which, he states, is pregnant with possibilities of undue interference with American trade.
Sir Edward Grey, in reply, said the* Government had confined itself to passing purely domestic legislation restricting persons under British jurisdiction. Every care would be exercised not to injure neutrals.
