Wellington, Wednesday. A cablegram from the High Commiesioner. dated London, April 11, says : —< Tho wool sales commenced with great competition for all wools, but buyers were cautions on account of the high price and uncertainty as to ihe attitude with regard to the limitation of future contracts. Values averaged £d lower than at last sales. Fifty thousand bales of New Zealand wool were catalogued.

The following were the quotations given by the High Commissioner in his last cablegram on the London wool sales : —< Fine crossbreds, all grades, Is 8d to li lid; medium crossbreds, all grades, Is 6d to Is 8d; coarse crossbreds, all grades, Is 4d to Is 6d; superior Merinos, Is 7d to Is 9d; medium Merinos, Is 4<l to Is 6d; inferior Merinos, Is Id to Is 3d.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London office, under yesterday's date :—- Wool sales : Good competition crossbred. Vory little change Merino; in favour of sellers." . Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, are in receipt of the following cablegram from their head office, London, under date tho 7th inst.: —" Butter: Danish, steadier, fine 1755; Australian and New Zealand, quiet, 1588 and 164s respectively.
