Writing in the Tages Zeitung Count Reventlow says England wants to secure a station off the Scheldt with a view to preparing Antwerp for a siege whenever the undertaking seems desirable. He warns Holland that failure to visualise the British scheme means the loss of her independence.
The article has created amusement in Holland.
