SINKING OF THE MALOJA.
THE POOP BLOWN( UP. CALMNESS OP ALL ABOARD. (Received March 4, 1.15 a.m.) London, March 3. At the inquiry concerning the sinking of the P. and 0. liner Maloja, Captain Irving stated that the explosion blew up the poop. He saw the debris hurled into the air. There was never a shriek nor a sound from the women, children or ' Lascars. A ' great' number 'of natives must have been killed. He thought the explosion was caused by a torpedo, but experts: said the 1 damage was such as was caused by a German mine carrying 5001b of high explosives. •' *
